The article discusses the political and other aspects of the integration of the transport systems of the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China in the form of the interface of the Russian Northern Sea Route and the Chinese Maritime Silk Road of the XXI century. The purpose of the study is to assess the possibility of integration the Northern Sea Route and the Maritime Silk Road of the XXI century. The materials for the study were publications in scientific journals and periodicals in Russian and English, published in the period 2010-2021 and devoted to Russian-Chinese relations in the Arctic region and the integration of transport systems of the two states. The research method was the factor analysis of the process of integration international transport corridors. The result of the factor analysis is the conclusion that the legal and political prerequisites for the integration of the Northern Sea Route and the Maritime Silk Road of the XXI century have basically developed. Despite the fact that natural, geographical, infrastructural and economic factors are still a brake on the integration of the two transport corridors, the presence of the agreement in principle of the leaders of the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China regarding the unification of the two routes makes the integration project itself quite feasible.
