This study evaluated and improved the Real-Time Global Satellite Mapping of Precipitation (GSMaP_NOW) of the Jakarta flood on January 1, 2020. We used 68 gauges for training, 17 gauges for evaluation, GSMaP_NOW, and GSMaP_GAUGE_NOW products. Improvement methods were delta method (D), local bias (LB), conditional merging (CM), kriging with external drift (KED), and collocated co-kriging (CCK). The results showed that GSMAP_NOW and GSMAP_GAUGE_NOW had poor accuracy towards the gauges, all merging methods were underestimated for heavy precipitation, and KED was the best method, followed by LB and D, to improve accuracy significantly and reduce the error of GSMaP_NOW. For future studies, another case and another method can be used to make comprehensive results.
