The waters of Lancang Island, located north of Jakarta, Indonesia, are one of the active areas for fishing and maritime transport and have several estuaries. Surveillance activities require remote sensing data, one of which is Sentinel 3 data. The Sentinel 3 has an instrument called the Ocean and Land Color Instrument (OLCI), an imaging spectrometer that measures solar radiation reflected from the Earth. This feature makes the Sentinel 3 OLCI an alternative for underwater water quality monitoring. This study describes validating Sentinel 3 OLCI chlorophyll-a information in Lancang Island, Indonesia. The data used are Sentinel 3 OLCI Level 1 data processed by the CR2CC processor and validated using the coefficient of determination, root means square error (RMSE), and normalized mean bias (NMB) calculations. Chlorophyll concentrations were validated with in situ data. The coefficient of determination was 0.78, RMSE was 5.3, and MNB was 44.4%. The Sentinel 3 OLCI was excellent at extracting chlorophyll information for the waters of Lancang Island.
