A comprehensive approach to determine the mechanical properties of advanced thermoelectric materials is described. The focus of this paper is the mechanical characterization of skutterudites, i.e., LTN‐SKD (n‐type doped ) and LTP‐SKD (p‐type ). Properties such as the elastic modulii, flexural strengths and fracture toughness, are reported and discussed. A summary table of the key mechanical properties is provided.
