There is an undoubted need for organizations in the transport industry for specialists who have the ability to implement leadership behavior to ensure technological and economic superiority in priority areas. The features of the leadership potential of transport university students were studied, depending on their ideas about career and success at the stage of professional training. The empirical study revealed differences in the content and structure of ideas about career and success among students with different levels of leadership potential. Based on the indicators of correlation analysis, we can say that the structure of the relationship between personal characteristics and the severity of different career orientations differs significantly. The results obtained can become an empirical basis for the development of a support system for the training of future leaders for the transport industry.
