A study of the plasma switches with full grid control with grooved emitter was made. The study shows that the saturation current of the emitter increases practically proportional to the factor of the surface development and with the right choice of the grooving geometry one can increase the emission by several times, with the direct voltage drop increasing ∼1 V. Grooving does not significantly decrease the effectiveness of control.
