The paper presents the results of theoretical studies of a gyroscopic stabilizer with a flywheel damper. The kinematic diagram, physical and mathematical models of such a gyrostabilizer are considered. Based on the physical and mathematical model of an indicator gyro stabilizer with a flywheel damper, a theoretical study of the stability of such a gyro stabilizer was carried out. The main attention is paid to the study of stability in comparison with the indicator gyro- stabilizer and the known flywheel gyrostabilizers with positional feedback. The requirements for the parameters of the gyrostabilizer are determined. The dependence of the damping torque on the magnitude and frequency of the external disturbing torque is determined. The possibility of reducing the maximum torque of the auxiliary drive is illustrated.
