The article shows the voltage curve in the DC contact network, specifies the features of the operation of the power circuit of DC electric locomotives with an asynchronous traction drive. The advantages and disadvantages of single-link and multi-link passive filters based on the construction of the amplitude-frequency characteristic are stated, the advantages of active filters based on an operational amplifier are presented. The diagram of an operational amplifier based on a classical transistor differential amplifier is presented. The recommended scheme of the active low-frequency filter of the 2ES10 electric locomotive is constructed, its mathematical description is presented. In the MATLAB/Simulink environment, the degree of smoothing of the input ripple voltage of the catenary by an active and passive filter was simulated, and graphs of the input and output voltages were plotted using these filters. A numerical comparison of noise smoothing by an active and passive filter is made.
