In this work an experimental study of the propagation of shock waves and pressure waves in a granular medium with selective properties was performed. A composite sorbent based on hollow glass microspheres with a selective- penetrable ability for helium is used as a granular medium. A special experimental setup was prepared using the shock tube principle. The installation includes a high-pressure section and a low-pressure section with a stepwise change in its inner diameter. Pressure plots were obtained for different tube sections for different media. The time of filling the pipe and the velocity of the pressure wave in the medium are estimated.
