The article is aimed the problem of monitoring of extended oil pipeline transport facilities in permafrost conditions located in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The causes of pipeline accidents were analyzed. The system of monitoring with the use of the Earth remote sensing (RS), which is the main and most effective method of control of extended objects, is considered. The method allows to decrease the share of negative scenarios of accidents. A measure of danger has been defined, which determines the scale of possible emergency situations that pose a major threat to the population and the environment.
