The first part of the work presents the results of measurements of the jet noise in the far field at various positions of the shield in the axial and lateral directions. The radiation spectra of the jet noise are given for various shield positions. The obtained spectra are used to estimate the shielding efficiency for different viewing angles. In the second part of the work, the measurements obtained with a planar microphone array and the results of localization of turbulent jet noise sources using the beamforming technique for a clean jet and various shield positions are presented. The obtained noise source positions are compared with each other and with the results of other authors for the case of a clean jet expiration.
