The increase in the energy consumption of machines in unsteady modes requires the creation of mathematical models and, based on them, the development of recommendations for improving efficiency. There is no doubt that the reasons for the decrease in the efficiency of agricultural machines are changes in speed and load, deviations from which from the optimal value causes an increase in energy losses. Another reason for the increase in energy losses is the process of forced braking of agricultural machines with loss of kinetic energy if necessary to stop them. A mathematical model for modeling the dynamic characteristics of machines has been developed, recommendations have been formed to improve the efficiency of machines by choosing the optimal gear ratio for the recovery of braking energy.
