Metal/composites hybrid structures are obtaining increasing attention to fulfil requirements of lightweight and crashworthiness in the aerospace and automotive industries. In this research, the crashworthiness characteristics of composite hybrid tubes are evaluated. For comparison purposes, the crashworthiness characteristics of the hybrid tube compared with previous research. Low-cost Al-Glass hybrid tube can increase energy absorption by about 48% from net Al tube, whereas SEA of hybrid tube decreased by 19% from Al tube. Al-Carbon hybrid tube escalade 96% of Ea and descend 4% of SEA from Al tube.
