Description The three volumes of Rarefied Gas Dynamicis contain 168 technical papers presented in 44 sessions at the Eighteenth International Symposium on Rarefied Gas Dynamics, which took place at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, July 26–30, 1992. Hundreds of figures accompany the reviewed and revised papers. Traditional areas of kinetic theory, discrete velocity models, freejets, hypersonic and rarefied flows, shock phenomena, condensation and evaporation, and associated mathematical and numerical techniques are discussed. In addition, the chapters emphasize space science, space engineering, and plasmas and plasma processing of materials.
