With increasing air traffic, it will soon become necessary to migrate from the current reactive mode of air traffic management to a predictive mode, for which a reliable high-fidelity model will be necessary. While several countries have developed such models for their respective airspace, the vast Indian airspace remains unexplored. To cover this gap, this paper presents the Air Traffic Model for the vast airspace of India. The complete airspace data (such as waypoints and routes), flight schedules of all flights, aircraft performance data, and predictive wind data, which are necessary for the model, have been collected from official sources that are available for public consumption. These data have been seamlessly integrated into the model, along with the necessary kinematics and the published protocols being followed by the pilots. It also provides an interactive user interface featuring a range of options for managing various simulation functionalities. The model and software validation processes have been carried out to assess and improve the accuracy. In addition to the adequate validation of the model, software validation has helped to improve software quality by identifying and rectifying crucial issues.
