To refine the prediction of the satellite harness dynamic behavior, this paper proposes an approach to characterize and identify the nonlinearities of the harness to enrich its dynamic model. In that regard, the characterization process based on several simple experimental tests is first detailed. The nonlinear properties of the cable harness are then identified and implemented into the dynamic model treated with the distributed transfer function method. For model validation purposes, the vibration response of a piece of harness is measured experimentally using an electrodynamic shaker. The comparison between the frequency response functions obtained experimentally and numerically highlights the good predictability of the nonlinear dynamic model.
