Thermal spreading resistance in compound orthotropic systems with interfacial resistance is considered. Interfacial resistance is prescribed by means of a contact conductance and a thermal boundary condition of the third kind. Several special solutions are considered, namely the disk and rectangular flux channels with a central uniform heat flux source. Solutions are found using the separation of variables method and presented in a systematic manner, such that many special cases can be considered. Additional useful solutions are also reviewed as required. The solutions presented in this work represent novel extensions of several existing solutions obtained by the author and others in previously published works.
