Description Volumes 25 and 26 of Progress in Astronautics and Aeronautics contain a sample of research in communications satellites drawn largely from the AIAA 3rd Communications Satellite Systems Conference. The uniqueness of these volumes is that they report on developments in all aspects of communications satellites. The papers were selected to emphasize analysis and performance data verified by laboratory or orbital testing and likely to prove applicable to future systems. The 73 papers in the two volumes are an impressive indication of the work that has been done and the solutions proposed to technological problems affecting communications satellite development.
