Description During discussions that took place during a Colloquium on Numerical Methods for Engine-Airframe Integration at the AIAA 22nd Aerospace Sciences Meeting, several basic questions came to light in regard to the following: availability of computers, status of turbulence modeling, numerical methods for complex flows, and applicability of different levels and types of codes to specify flow interactions of interest in integration. The current volume is organized based on the four invited articles that address those basic questions and the revised and edited contributions. This volume is a comprehensive introduction to the current state of developments and the directions for advances in the application of computational methods as a primary tool for performance estimation and design.
