The five-volume Space Biology and Medicine is a joint work of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and the Russian Academy of Sciences. Volume III, Humans in Spaceflight has two parts: Book 1—Effects of Microgravity, and Book 2—Effect of Other Spaceflight Factors, which provide in-depth discussions of physiological adaptation to the space environment.
