Description This volume is composed of technical papers selected from the Ninth International Colloquium on Gasdynamics of Explosions and Reactive Systems, Poitiers, France, July 1983. The papers are concerned with the interrelationship between the rate processes of energy deposition in a compressible medium and the concurrent nonsteady flow as it occurs typically in explosion phenomena. The contents are arranged into chapters on gaseous detonations, heterogeneous detonations, condensed explosives, explosions, and interactions. A companion volume was published, titled Dynamics of Flames and Reactive Systems.
