The paper discusses the problem of maintenance of the tetrahedral configuration of four satellites. They are assumed to move passively along near-circular orbits and, in linear approximation, their relative motion is finite. The main goal is to define such initial conditions of satellite motion that allow the tetrahedron to preserve its volume and shape. The classification of the obtained solution is presented. General expressions for the initial parameters determination, as well as solution families for some special cases, are obtained. A numerical study that includes J 2 perturbation is conducted for different types of orbits.
