This paper uses a new quasi-Shannon interval wavelet collocation method (QSIWCM) to deal with pure radiative heat transfer in partitioned rectangular domains. The angular domain is discretized by the discrete-ordinate method, and the spatial domain is discretized by the QSIWCM. For some partitionable irregular enclosures, the whole domain is first divided into several rectangular subdomains and then discretized in each subdomain. Three geometries are considered to test the accuracy of the QSIWCM as applied to radiation heat transfer, including the square enclosure, the square enclosure with one upper baffle, and the square enclosure with one centered obstruction. The numerical results have a satisfactory agreement with data from the literature.
