An investigation of heat and mass transfer in an irregular square porous cavity is examined. The porous cavity has a square shape with an isothermal heater, having a temperature T h at the middle of the cavity. The heating source has two vertical surfaces and one horizontal surface. The height and width of heater are varied to analyze its impact on the heat and mass transfer characteristics. The bottom surface of the cavity is adiabatic, but the remaining three outer surfaces are maintained at a cold temperature T o . A concentration gradient exists between the left and right surfaces of the cavity with a higher concentration of C h at the left surface and a lower concentration of C o at the right surface. The effects of various parameters such as the heater height, heater width, buoyancy ratio, Lewis number, Rayleigh number, Dufour parameter, and Soret parameter on the heat and mass transfer behavior are examined.
