The influence of carbon, manganese, chromium, nitrogen, vanadium, niobium and titanium on the properties of medium-carbon microalloyed steels has been studied. Included in the investigation are studies on the effects of processing conditions, particulary austenitizing (soaking) temperature, deformation temperature and the degree of deformation for laboratory-, pilot-scale and commercial heats. The influence of composition and processing conditions on microstructure and resulting mechanical properties is reported. Isoproperty diagrams for the range of vanadium-titanium and vanadium-niobium compositional variations studied are presented. This article is translated in English too.
