To date, the TLP's that have been installed or that are being built, make use of groups of tendons attached at the corner columns of the platform for mooring the platform. These tendons are attached to an anchor receptacle or foundation template on the ocean floor by a bottom connector. The attachment to the TLP hull near the surface is provided by a top connector, which typically has a different set of requirements, and therefore a different design thatn the bottom connector. These connectors from the interfaces with the tendons and the remainder of the TLP. This paper presents a summary of various connections for the tendons of a tension leg platform (TLP). These include those connections that join individual segments of the tendon as well as those which attach the tendon to the TLP hull and sea floor anchor receptacles. This paper provides a broad overview of some of the different connector types that have been developed and installed on TLP's. Many other tendon connector types have been designed and built, but will not be discussed in the paper.
