Methodologies are described for measuring and computing raw and dilute-cvs exhaust emissions from hydrogen-fueled internal-combustion engines. Primary emphasis in this paper is on the computational theory and the methodology involved when the primary exhaust constituents are water, oxygen, and nitrogen. Example calculations are provided using steady-state gaseous emissions values of total hydrocarbons (HC), carbon monoxide (CO), oxides of nitrogen (NO(x)), hydrogen (H2), and oxygen (O2) considered somewhat typical for an experimental hydrogen-fueled engine.
