In view of the qualitatively new level of technical complexity, the problem of validity of statistical assurances in the design, manufacture, and operation of systems whose accuracy, reliability, and safety must satisfy exacting demands, has become very acute. Its practical solution demands expert metrological examination of algorithms and metrological certification of software used for statistical processing of the results of measurements. It is shown that classification of measuring errors by the statistical characteristics of extrapolation functionals of interpretation models of the systematic error component has an experimental basis and makes it possible to solve problems of statistical data-processing software maintenance based on the maximum compactness method.
