The European Fighter Aircraft (EFA) is a project that is wholly owned by Aeritalia, British Aerospace, CASA (Spain), and Messerschmidt-Bolkow-Blohm GmbH (West Germany), and Dornier (France). The avionics team has split the system into navigation, attack and identification, displays and controls, communications, integrated monitoring and recording, armament and the defensive aids subsystem. One of the most widely publicised aspects of the EFA avionics has been the choice of radar, Ferranti's ECR-90.
