Some preliminary results of a study directed at the modeling and simulation of spacecraft power systems are presented. Each power device is modeled as a two-port subnetwork. An appropriate set of state-space equations for each two-port model is derived, with port voltages as the independent variables. The first device modeled is the series resonant converter, which includes a nonlinear inductor. Since spacecraft power systems will probably operate at frequencies that are much higher than 60 Hz, the next component modeled is a high-frequency transformer. The final device modeled is a transmission line. Because each module is decoupled from the rest of the system, each is solved independently, with the inputs to each two-port clamped for each solution interval.
