In this paper, steady CFD method for evaluating the maneuvering coefficients of a small high speed underwater vehicle underwater vehicle is presented. In case of rectilinear flow, spherical domain was created in such a manner that simulations were carried out for different inflow angles without any change in the grid layout. Grid convergence study was also carried out with the intention to achieve cost effective solution. For rotary motion, rotating arm setup was demonstrated and numerically replicated at different angular velocities. The hydrodynamic derivatives were obtained by extracting the slopes of the lift force and moment data points. To gain confidence in CFD results, a comparison was made with available experimental data. It is concluded that CFD approach provides a prediction of hydrodynamic derivatives successfully.
