The concept of an universal model making the RCF crack stress analysis less laborious and less time consuming has been developed and tested. The tests of the 2D version of the model were carried out and gave the results being in a good agreement with the results obtained traditionally. The functionality and effectiveness of the model were also tested by running series of calculations aiming at the determination of the dependence of the crack tip loading intensity on the crack length. The tests proofed that the model is much more efficient than the traditional ones. Analysis covering four sets of cases (10 cases each) have been conducted with the use of the same FEM model for all cases. As an additional result of calculations the dependence of the Mode I and Mode II SIFs ranges on the crack length for the crack inclined at angle of 15 degree has been determined within the range of a/b = 0.5 +15. This function exhibits the maximum for a/b = 3.2. The values and ranges of the determined SIFs in combination with any of the crack growth model can be utilized for simulating the crack growth. The concept of the universal model is also applicable to the 3D version of modelling. Taking into account the fact that the 3D analyses are much more laborious and time consuming than the 2D ones, the greater benefits can be expected from implementing this concept into the 3D FEM modelling.
