Describes main design features of the 1030 kW heavy duty diesel-electric locomotive which is the first of a range of standard industrial designs (1030 kW, 515 kW, 220 kW and 110 kW). The locomotive is powered by a six cylinder in-line type of engine with direct fuel injection. The electric transmission comprises a DC generator, series-wound nose-suspended traction motors and conventional control gear. A special creep speed device is employed to maintain any constant speed between 1 and 7 km/hod.
