This paper introduces EEPROM integrated onto single chip microcomputers and stand-alone circuits for the automotive application area. The features are considered and then applied to show how the integrity and lifetime of data can be enhanced by a variety of techniques. Most of these techniques can be applied to other EEPROM devices.
