The influence of the Reynolds number on ship-hull flows is investigated for the container ship Hamburg Test Case (HTC). Frec-surface viscous flow simulations without the use of wall functions show that the pressure resistance coefficient at model scale is remarkably higher than at full scale. The Reynolds number has a significant influence on the wave elevation and the streamlines at the stern. The results prove that the presented method is applicable to the computation of viscous frec-surface flow around a relatively complex hull form at full scale.
