In order to carry on the classification research to the urban agglomeration traffic hub city, takes the medium level traffic hub as the entry point. From the four aspects of social economy, transportation conditions, transportation scale and policy supply, a scientific and reasonable grading evaluation index system of transportation hub cities in urban agglomerations is constructed. In this paper, a hierarchical evaluation index system of traffic hub cities in the Yangtze River Delta is constructed. Entropy method and clustering method are used to obtain that the traffic hub cities in the Yangtze River Delta region are divided into four levels. On this basis, the paper makes an accurate analysis of the shortcomings of Hangzhou in the process of building a transportation hub city under the background of Yangtze River Delta integration, and puts forward specific and operable methods.
