Abstract This chapter details the events that can occur when an engine/nacelle system malfunction. The nacelle generally provides noise attenuation and a thrust-reversing mechanism during landing. The chapter describes the impact of the thrust-reversing (TR) system becoming deployed during flight. The dramatic yawing moment and significant loss of lift over the TR deployed wing produced loss of aircraft control and eventually loss of the aircraft, crew, and passengers.
