To enrich the autonomous driving experience, vehicle to infrastructure (V2I) based cooperative driving protocol is necessary to support the decision-making processes in self-driving technology. One of the key technologies in V2I based cooperative driving protocol is identifying the autonomous vehicle (AV) on the road to provide a selection of customized information. In this paper, our team proposes an AV identification method for V2I based cooperative driving using surveillance cameras on a roadside unit (RSU). The suggested AV identification method utilizes both the images from the surveillance cameras and basic safety message (BSM) from the AV to recognize the AV among other cars on the road. Once the AV on the road is filtered out, the customized information such as cars in its blind spots is generated and is sent to the AV to aid its planning processes.
