This paper presents the use of a Model-based Systems Engineering, studies the energy consumption evaluation of EMU (Electric Multiple Units), and provides a basis of evaluation on energy saving and intelligent energy management of future trains. Based on the platform of Co-simulation, and ZEMT library of train subsystem models and environment models, an energy consumption outline of Chinese high speed train EMU is implemented. With a brief introduction of the co-simulation platform, it demonstrates the formulation of the EMU framework, the construction of the energy consumption scenario, the conditions and limitations of the simulation. Then compared the simulation result with real train data and simulation results. It shows that in this paper provides a reasonable method to analyze and study the energy consumption evaluation of EMU.
