Unpredictable behavior in hard real time systems can have drastic consequences and the formal verification of system safety properties in this context is therefore particularly appropriate. Safety analysis is applied to the timing specification of a simple robot vehicle. The specification is given by a set of real time logic formulas (rules). A modified rule to permit the preemption of low priority real time processes is proposed.
