This study specifically addressed the role of microprocessors and LSI technology (five year forecast) in future avionic systems data bus, information transfer systems designs which allow future avionic systems additions, and the impact of Air Force standards on microprocessors, Cost models for hardware and software and information transfer system simulation models were also reviewed for possible use in the analysis of these systems. The study has resulted in the definition and analysis of three data bus information transfer systems which allow multimission applications. These information transfer systems are called stationary master, nonstationary master and contention multiple access. (Author)
