By order No. 74-3-70524 from SAAB-SCANIA AB, Flight Division and in cooperation with FOA Division 24 (Explosives and Fire Research), a number of sled tests have been performed with a scale model of 'Robot 15'. In order to study the penetration of the missile through steel plates an impact velocity of 250 m/s was required. The missile was mounted on the sled which was accelerated on a 300 m long rail by two test rockets. The sled was decelerated by sand before the end of the track, which caused the model to leave the sled and fly freely towards the target plate. In this report the method of acceleration and deceleration is described.
