The project proposes to extend the existing NW/SE runway, and to reinforce existing NW/SE runway bituminous mat to accommodate a design load of a 60,000 pound aircraft; and to acquire additional land, for runway extension, runway lights, visual approach slope indicators (VASI's), beacon, and relocation of a township road and a power line. The airport improvement will allow utilization by the Gulfstream 2 class jet aircraft, causing an increase in noise and air pollution. The removal of the evergreens will permanently reduce wildlife shelter.
