The report summarizes the design, analysis, fabrication and testing of a wing box specimen using boron aluminum as the primary structural material. The primary purpose of the program was to demonstrate the feasibility of using boron-aluminum in a major aircraft structural component. The wing section selected is typical of many aircraft wing structures and simulated an integral wing fuel tank section capable of withstanding internal pressure in addition to the basic bending and torsion loads.
