In the field of active and passive vibration isolation, damping elements are used in many applications. In automotive engineering, one essential area of active safety - in particular the contact between the tire and the road - is guaranteed by appropriate shock absorber design. Often axle suspension or independant wheel suspension assures spatial movements between the unsprung masses and the vehicle body which are clearly defined with respect to one another. It is therefore necessary to make damper mountings articulated and elastic. Damper mountings are rubber elements of varying shape and hardness. They allow manufacturing tolerances to be equalized and the transmission of structure-borne noise to be reducted, among other things. The aim of this investigation is to analyze the possible effects of these elastic damper mountings in vibration systems.
