An airborne maritime surveillance system was flown on a helicopter over an industrial plant to demonstrate its usefulness for energy conservation. More than 600 thermal infrared images, acquired in 3 different periods of time, were used for the mosaic of the study area. Data were analyzed using computer-assisted interpretation of digitized aerial imagery. The results prove the usefulness of the system used for calculating the heat losses and the energy distribution of the plant.
