The proposed project begins approximately one-half mile east of Canoe on U.S. 31 in Escambia County and runs eastwardly on new location south of the L and N Railroad, crossing the L and N approximately two miles east of Wawbeek; thence continues on new location in vicinity of existing U.S. 31 to a point approximately 1.25 miles east of Wawbeek which is the end of project. The existing facility within the project limits is a two lane highway with an overhead bridge over the L and N Railroad. The following areas are: Transportation quality; Benefits to local and long distance travel; Social and economic opportunities for the area residents. (Author)
