This study is concerned with the interactions between tungsten and the exhaust constituents from solid-propellant rocket motors, where tungsten is used for such components as nozzle liners and jetevators. Since the solid propellants containing aluminum are of greatest current interest, the reactions between tungsten and molten alumina constitute a most important part of the investigation.
