The intent of this Program Manual and the Users Manuals, which are printed separately, is threefold. They (1) describe the methodology used to develop computer programs for estimating the cost of solid-propellant rocket motor components, (2) describe the findings of these programs, and (3) present the rocket designer with procedural instructions for use of three computer programs. The formulae and rationalizations developed in the two programs were used to develop separate computer programs for estimating the cost of metal rocket-motor cases, filament-wound rocket-motor cases, and rocket-motor nozzles. The programs were then evaluated against available experience data for each type of structure. The results were well within the limits of accuracy expected. (Author)
