Article considers road traffic accidents (RTA) statistics with collision with pedestrian in 2020 in the Russian Federation. Information analysis about road accidents in the Republic of Ingushetia and the Chechen Republic has been carried out. Types of tests of automatic emergency braking systems (AEBS) with preventing collisions with pedestrians’ function are proposed. AEBS tests are planned to be carried out during the day and night without artificial lighting. It is proposed to use a pedestrian model developed at the Automobile Department of the MADI as a moving target during testing. System for assessing AEBS effectiveness when working on the goal of “adult pedestrian” is proposed. Tests results of car Toyota RAV4 AEBS effectiveness, carried out according to developed method, are presented.
